Paul Wilkins recently had the opportunity to perform as part of BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night Is Music Night: We Can Be Heroes, a live broadcast from The Mermaid Theatre, London, accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra. The evening featured performances from ArtsEd students, giving emerging talent the chance to share the stage with a full orchestra.
Hosted by the renowned lyricist Don Black, the show paid tribute to musical heroes. Paul had the honour of performing the penultimate number of the evening, the title song from Sunset Boulevard, with lyrics penned by Don Black himself, making it a particularly special moment.
Alongside Paul, the event featured a talented lineup of 3rd year students from ArtsEd including Sienna Sebek, Danny Becker, Amy Perry, Jacob Fisher, Leah Barbara West, Omari Douglas, Bobbie Little, Gabriella Williams, Patrick O'Sullivan, Edd Campbell Bird, and Sam O'Rourke.
