Marking twenty weeks since theatres went dark, A Song For Our Time emerged from the shared vision of actor Paul Wilkins and producer Danielle Tarento. Driven by the impact of lockdown on their industry, they launched a competition to find an original song that would capture the resilience and struggles of the arts community.

From over 260 submissions from six continents, “Looking at the Moon” by Amir Shoenfeld and Caitlyn Burt was chosen as the winning song. “The response was overwhelming,” shared Paul and Danielle. “We received incredible entries from around the world, making the selection both challenging and rewarding. We’re especially grateful to Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown for his invaluable support in the final decision.”

“Looking at the Moon”was recorded by West End and Broadway star Hadley Fraser and features an introduction by Acting For Others Ambassador Samantha Bond. Proceeds support Acting For Others, a charity network offering essential financial and emotional aid to theatre professionals. Click here to watch full video.

Produced by Danielle Tarento and Paul Wilkins, the creative team was completed with Mark Aspinall as musical supervisor, Ben Robbins as video producer and artwork by Rebecca Pitt.
